The Church in Babylon / The Church in Laodicea Revelations 3:14-21 (verses 15-17) "I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I would that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. Because 'YOU SAY', I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing, and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked," Jeremiah 20:4+5 "For thus says the Lord, Behold, I am going to make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends; and while your eyes look on, they will fall by the sword of their enemies. So I shall give over all Judah to the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will carry them away as exiles to Babylon and will slay them with the sword. I shall also give over all 'THE WEALTH OF THIS CITY', all its produce, and all its COSTLY THINGS; even all the TREASURES OF THE KINGS OF JUDAH I shall give over to the hand of their enemies, and they will plunder them, take them away, AND BRING THEM TO BABYLON!" Revelation 17:4-6 "And the woman was clothed in scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a gold cup full of abominations and of the unclean things of her immorality, and upon her forehead a name was written, a mystery, "BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Yeshua (Jesus) And when I saw her, I wondered greatly." Ezra 1:7-11 "Also King Cyrus brought out the articles 'OF THE HOUSE OF THE LORD' which Nebuchadnezzar (king of Babylon) had carried away from Jerusalem and put in the 'HOUSE OF THEIR GODS'; and Cyrus, king of Persia, had them brought by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and he counted them out to Sheshbazzar, the 'PRINCE OF JUDAH'. Now this was their number: 30 gold dishes, 1,000 silver dishes, 29 duplicates; 30 gold bowls, 410 silver bowls of a second kind, and 1,000 other artilces. All the gold and silver numbered 5,400. Shesh- bazzar brought them all up with the exiles who went up from Babylon to Jerusalem. Saints This living God who died for us, who gave His all for us, who keeps us, loves us, protects us and knows the number of the hairs upon our heads. This same One says in Rev. chapter three that he will spit the endtimes church out of His mouth. Nearly everyone agrees that the Church at Laodecia represents the endtimes church. This is taught by most everyone. Yet they all say it is 'another group', 'another church, one other than theirs', 'another denomination'. Yet it is clearly the church as a whole. It is also very clear from the word, in The Book of Revelation, that Babylon will be in power again in the endtimes, in some way or form. It is also very clear that Babylon will fall in "one hour of one day", in the last days (Rev. 18:8 and Rev. 18:17). Some think that Babylon represents the church in The Book of Revelations, yet this cannot be. Babylon was, is, and will be, that 'world power' which God allows to rise into a world dominating power. It was so in the Old Testament, it will be so in the New testament. Then where did this 'represtation of Babylon' which we see in Rev. chapter 17 get these 'precious things' we read about in Rev. 17:4? In 1 Corith. 3:12 we read about the eternal things which carry an eternal reward, the things of value in the Kingdom of God. They are 'gold', silver, and precious stones. We see this woman dressed in these same things and she has a name upon her 'Baylon the great'. This Babylon in Rev. got these things the same way, and from the same place, that the Babylon of the Old Testament did, and that is by taking them from the chosen people of God through an preordained plan of God himself. She has them because she has the Saints in slavery. As the children of Israel became so worldly, and mixed with the peoples of the world, and the religions of the world, God raised up Babylon to take them captive for a preordained time. Babylon allowed the peoples, they took for slaves, to serve their own Gods and encouraged them to do so. At the fall of Babylon, the Children of the Living God (the church now) receives these ETERNAL and PRECIOUS things back. They also (by a preordained plan of God) were allowed to return to their true 'dwelling place', to that place God had prepared for them, Jerusalem. Saints the church is saying just what the Lord said they would be saying in the endtimes. Rev. 3:17 "You say, 'I am rich (the church 'as a whole' has never seen such riches, they also think this is the most powerful and spiritually 'wealthy' time the church has ever witnessed), and have BECOME wealthy, and have need of nothing," Yet 'He says' the endtimes churches true condition is this, "You do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked". Those are VERY, VERY STRONG words from our Lord! But why does he say this? How can there be these two 'TOTALLY' opposite ways of seeing 'THE ENDTIMES' and the churches TRUE CONDITION? I'll tell you a mystery and the reason why! Its because these are the endtimes, Babylon dominates the world and Babylon has taken the church captive and now has these 'PRECIOUS THINGS' in her storehouse! The reason the church is so blind is because she has the WEALTH OF BABYLON and BABYLON HAS HER PRECIOUS THINGS! The church thinks this is her greatest hour, yet 'HE' knows the churches true condition. She (the church) is in slavery in Babylon and the church sees the wealth 'of BABYLON' and longs for 'THOSES THINGS'. Yet He knows that Babylon will fall in 'one hour of one day' and the church will be free to leave for Jerusalem. Yet 'He also knows' that the church is so in love with, so mixed with, and so secure in Babylon, that only a remnant will leave Babylon. This was so in the Old testament and shall be so in the new. You see by the fall of Babylon in the Old testament, a whole genration had passed away, and most of those in Babylon, were born in Babylon. They only knew a life that was dominated by Babylon, they also new it as home! It is the same in these last days. The church has been in Babylon so long that they have come to love that harlot who is wearing those precious things. They have become so much one with Babylon, and happy in Babylon, that they love the harlot and look at her things, and their things, and as being one. Laodicea means "a people of self evident justice, judgement, vengenance". The Lord said that they were neither hot nor cold, they were lukewarm which is hot and cold water mixed together. Thats the main problem, 'MIXTURE'. God hates it and always has. We are to be a seperate people, we are not to mix with the world, love the world, nor the things of the world, and mainly we are not to mix with the worlds RELIGIOUS PRACTICES! There are ENDLESS examples 'throughout' the word of God (old and new testament)about mixing. It all boils down to 'a little leaven, leavens the whole lump'. The church of Laodicea is mixed too 'no end' and proud of it, and also thinks it is the power and glory of God that they have and they THANK GOD FOR IT. All the while they are blind to their present condition (Rev. 3:17 ..poor and blind and naked)! Why naked? The harlot is wearing her royal robes! Psalm 137:1-4 "By the rivers of Babylon, There we sat down and wept, When we remembered Zion. Upon the willows in the midst of it We hung our harps. For there our captors demanded of us songs, And our tormentors mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion. How can we sing the Lords song in a foreign land?" Revelation 18:20-22 "Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced judgement for you against her. And a strong angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, Thus will Babylon, the great city, be thrown down with violence, and will not be found any longer. And the sound of the harpists and the musicians and flute-players and trumpeters will not be heard in you any longer; and no craftsman of any crafts will be found in you any longer; and the sound of a mill will not be heard in you any longer;" These verses start with the people of God (saints, prophets, etc.) and so many of the things you read in these verses has so much to do with the children of God. So why are they suddenly silent? Because Babylon has fallen and the saints, prophets, and apostles are no longer there in Babylon! In Him And only by His grace john The following are questions I was asked in regards to this message. My answers begin and end with====. Question#1) >>>This same One says in Rev. chapter three that he will spit the endtimes church out of His mouth.<< Please clarify how God will "spit the endtime church out of His mouth" and send Jesus to bring the Church to be with Him, Jesus, forever? Answer=== As I see it, this would have happened (His spitting them out of His mouth) when they were sent into slavery in Babylon as Israel was in the Old Testament.=== Question #2( >>>At the fall of Babylon, the Children of the Living God (the church now) receives these ETERNAL and PRECIOUS things back.<< <<< Is it the Church that is saying this or just those who, if I may sound crass here, are just playing church to get what they want? Answer===Both! The church is so mixed that you cannot uproot one without the other. We all know that Elijah 'MUST' return 'before' the coming of the Lord. Jesus said that John the Baptist was Elijah. John said that he was not. Jesus said that Elijah would also return. Its not that Elijah himself would or could return. It is the spirit, the 'WORK, and the God driven purpose of Elijah that will return. It is the purpose and work which you saw it John. Yet John said he 'was not' Elijah. Do you see it? What do you see with the people of God at the coming of Elijah in Kings? They are 'ALL' worshipping at the altars of Baal. Why? Because they have become so mixed, so much in slavery with the worlds religions and ways that they also thought the were serving God in a very powerful way. They thought that they were rich and powerful, yet they were blind, poor, and naked, until the coming of Elijah. The coming of Elijah will cause Jezebel and Ahab (a perfect picture of the world and Gods peoples leaders, united as one) to hate and try to destroy the work and purpose of Elijah. This mixed church Jezebel ('the world') and Ahab, (the leaders of Gods people) can not, will not, and never would recieve 'The Spirit of Elijah'. It will fight it til the end.===== Question #4) >>>Babylon dominates the world and Babylon has taken the church captive and now has these 'PRECIOUS THINGS' in her storehouse! >>>You can not take away the Truth which is hidden in the heart. This is the precious thing of the Church, the Word of God. All the precious stones, and gold, etc. are no more than building materials to God. Answer====Yet they are mixed and 'A little leaven leavens the whole lump'. God is building in Jerusalem (spiritually speaking for us) and only Jerusalem. Babylon cannot serve his purpose in this way. He will not and would not build there.=== Question #5) >>>Because Babylon has fallen and the saints, prophets, and apostles are no longer there in Babylon! <<< In this you are correct. The Church is no longer in Babylon they are with the Lord. I am still unable to see how God can spew the church out of His mouth, and still call it, His Church. While giving them warning and a chance to repent, if they do not they will be lost for eternity. Answer====He will spew the church out of His mouth as they go into Babylon, not as they come out. As they return to their rightful place, they are 'RICH and WEALTHY' with the things from above. The things you see Cyrus return to them which Babylon had taken. You can know 'THE TRUTH' yet have no rewards coming in heaven. God is doing a eternal, spiritual work. I often tell people.
